Reliable Maintenance Service pioneered the concept of position specialists
within the building services industry. The concept of team-cleaning,
coupled with the Tipe Ultra Cleaning Cloth System has produced a system we
call ULTRA CLEANING.
ULTRA CLEANING is a process whereby highly-trained
employees function as specialists within a team environment using the most
effective tools to do the designated task.
Ultra Cleaning individuals are specialists. Each member
is responsible for a specific duty rather than performing all the multiple
functions required within a given area or zone.
The size of the team is determined by the building, but
there are at least four specialists.
Within a building, the specialists move through in a
systematic method performing specific cleaning tasks. Although there are
four types of specialists, a team can be comprised of any number of people
and any configuration of specialists depending on the size and
specifications of the building.
Typical Specialist designations are light duty
specialist, vacuum specialist, restroom specialist and utility specialist.
Each is assigned specific zones, on specific floors within a building.
Fewer People and Less
Equipment
The following illustration demonstrates
this advantage: To zone clean an eight story building each cleaner works a
12,000 square foot floor in a five hour shift. He performs every cleaning
task. The outcome is that eight people, eight vacuums, eight trash barrels
and eight restroom carts are needed for the entire building.
In the same building
using the Ultra Cleaning System using our exclusive TiPe Ultra-Clean
clothes and backpack vacuums, there are six specialists. One pair,
comprised of a light-duty specialist and a vacuum specialist is assigned
to floors 1 through 4, while an identical pair is assigned to floors 5
through 8. A restroom specialist and a utility specialist work throughout
the entire building. The outcome with a team approach is that six people,
two vacuums, two trash barrels and one restroom cart are needed.

Cleaner Buildings Happier Clients
To check Team-Cleaned buildings,
Supervisors can spot check zones, areas and restrooms and know who is
responsible and accountable for the work. As team specialist pass through
zones, they can double-check on their colleague's work. Each team
specialist is accountable for their assigned function within a zone or
area

Johnny Bench is a Hall-of-Fame catcher
that played for the Cincinnati Reds in the 60s and 70s. As a catcher,
there were few better. Catching was his specialty and when the Big Red
Machine hit the field, Bench called the pitches and ran the team.
In the latter part of
his career, he moved to the first-base position, a move to keep his lethal
bat in the line-up while saving his ravaged knees from the hardship of
catching. As a first-baseman, Johnny Bench was adequate but not
Hall-of-Fame material.
Well-trained Specialists
Just as Johnny Bench excelled at catcher, our team
specialists are recruited and trained to the positions they fill. Each is
trained as to the duties and responsibilities of their respective
positions and the team, as well as the individual specialist, are
responsible for their assigned zones or areas.
